TASITE Educator of the Year Award

This award is intended to recognise the importance of the work of Tasmanian educators who are contributing to learning with, through and about digital technologies in their schools/institutions.

This award focuses on recognising the efforts of classroom based educators.

Nominees must be based in a school and considered a member of the teaching staff of that school.

Criteria for Selection

Nominations need to show that they are respected as a leader and innovator to both internal and external groups to their own institution.

Criterion 1: Impact

Is the applicant respected as leader and innovator in their own institution?

    • Work with students
    • Work with colleagues
    • Work with their own educational community including parents

Criterion 2: Advocacy

Is the applicant perceived as a leader and innovator by outside individuals, groups or organisations?

    • Work with teachers in other institutions
    • Participation in the work and events of TASITE and other associations
    • Publications
    • Contributions to conferences and other professional development activities
    • Contribution to the professional development of others

Criterion 3: Innovation

    • Initiative displayed in the use of ICT in education in the classroom
    • New and exciting programs developed
    • A successful applicant may not necessarily fulfil all the indicators of the criteria listed.
